Following a staff vote, we are really pleased to announce that in 2016 we are going to be supporting the mental health charity Mind.
Our Charity Committee will soon be meeting up to plan our fundraising activity throughout the year, starting with Time to Talk Day on 4th February. We’re hoping that with continued great support we will be able to match the amount we raised in 2015 for Alzheimer’s Society and raise over £20,000 for Mind.
Peldon Rose has long been associated with championing wellbeing in the workplace and mental wellbeing is a key area that companies should focus on. By investing in a well-designed workplace you will boost employee wellbeing and this in turn will boost the fortunes of business. The charity partnership for the year is an excellent fit and one we can’t wait to get behind.
Kathleen Miles, Director of Fundraising at Mind, says: “We’re delighted to have been chosen by Peldon Rose as charity partner of the year for 2016. Funds raised through this partnership will help Mind to provide information and advice for anyone affected by mental health problems, and will support our work campaigning for the rights of people whose voices are often ignored.”
According to ‘Time to Change’, the organisation led by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, mental health problems affect 1 in 4 people every year, yet too often people are afraid to talk about their experiences because they fear it will affect their jobs or relationships. Time to Change, who promote ‘Time to Talk Day’, believe this is not right and are after help to break the silence and end the stigma associated with mental health.
We’re all really looking forward to getting behind Mind and helping to support better mental health.
