As part of Heineken’s recent office refurbishment on Great Titchfield Street, they wanted to introduce new working practices and empower their people to have greater flexibility in where they choose to work.
We worked closely with the facilities team in their London office, allowing us to get to know their business, people and culture. Through a series of in-house workshops, we gained insight in to how people used to work and how they wanted to work in their new environment.
As this was an in-situ office refurbishment programme, we worked out of hours and at weekends to ensure a quick and seamless move – once to their temporary space and then back to the refurbished office. This meant there was no downtime for Heineken employees.
We reinvented their London office so the people at Heineken were empowered to work the way they wanted to. To achieve this, we introduced a range of smart working spaces to provide multi-function environments for people to select according to their personality type, task and mood.
Our furniture team installed collaboration booths with AV and quieter solo booths, and in the main cafeteria and bar we provided multi-purpose high benches which are well used throughout the day.
The main open-plan workspace benefitted from greater privacy and improved acoustics with new glass partitions which enable views of the wider space and plenty of natural light. We also supplied new lockers to minimise the need for pedestals and create one central storage point.
On the second floor we removed a partition wall and created a new kitchen tea point to provide better staff facilities which now act as focal point drawing people in together, helping spark new conversations and friendships. The newly refurbished office is a more enjoyable, social and interactive space which embodies the Heineken culture and provides their staff with a truly versatile and adaptable environment.
