KAYAK had a strong vision of what they needed from their new office interior and wanted a relaxed, yet professional workspace that they could grow into. They wanted a minimalistic office design, with the only splash of colour being their corporate colour, orange.
They were renting in a serviced office near Waterloo which did not suit their needs or represent them as a forward thinking online travel comparison company. We were tasked with helping them to move across to the historic borough of Farringdon.
The project was a true collaboration as they knew exactly what they were after and our in-house experts delivered an office that demonstrated this. Being newly refurbished, with natural oak flooring throughout, we used the exposed brickwork, air conditioning units and ductwork as features to create a clean, contemporary office interior.
We incorporated the existing black perimeter trunking within the design by introducing glazed partition with chunky black frames. We enhanced the studio-like look and feel of the interior space with a mixture of retro and classic furniture. Iconic Eames furniture fills the office and perfectly complements KAYAK’s modern and trendy brand. The minimalist design of the meeting rooms and open office space has been optimised by the selections made by our in-house furniture team.

Bespoke manifestations were created to match their corporate identity as a tech company making online travel better. The design of these allowed the office to remain light and open, enhancing its features. Bringing the office together by adding these graphics, there is a clear theme that flows throughout the workspace, providing an extra level of detail to the office.
Adding in elements to promote employee wellbeing was also something KAYAK believed to be important for their new office. A quirky feature within the design was a bike rack on the wall. As the company are keen cyclists, we also installed a large shower room to allow staff to cycle to work. These design features provide a positive impact on the office environment by giving staff access to facilities so they can choose how they travel to and from work.
